Moto G sold out in India in less than an hour

One version of the Moto G, which went on sale in India exclusively via Flipkart, has sold out of stock in less than an hour. Not surprisingly, the 16GB variant, which is priced at Rs 13,999 is now no longer available to buy. Rival retailer Snapdeal had yesterday announced receiving 1,000 pre-orders for the Moto G in two hours. However, it turns out that Motorola is not providing stocks to Snapdeal and the sales will be exclusively with Flipkart. Even then, Snapdeal’s numbers indicate the kind of demand Motorola can expect for the Moto G in India.

At the moment we do not know how many units were available in stock on the first day, but judging by the chatter on Twitter, we believe that the demand for the more expensive, larger storage capacity model has been higher. At this point of time, there are no indications from Flipkart as to when the device will be back in stock again.

We believe that the Moto G is a better product than what’s available from other tier-one vendors at its price segment. If you are still sitting on the fence about the Moto G, you can check out our first impressions of the phone. We will bring a complete review of the Moto G in the coming week. Stay tuned.
